Who We Are

Welcome! We’re Wanganui Homebrew Central (formerly Golden Dream Distilling & Homebrew Supplies). Our passion for crafting started with a small, distilling-only shop right here in Wanganui, check out our Google reviews and feel free to add your own review whilst you are there. Distilling, homebrewing, and winemaking are at the heart of what we do. But as we expanded into homebrewing and winemaking, we encountered the challenges that distilling businesses face worldwide. Even though distilling is fully legal here in New Zealand, it’s restricted in many countries, so having “Distilling” in our name caused repeated website suspensions from Google.

To keep things running smoothly, we created Wanganui Homebrew Central – a fresh, welcoming space without distilling gear. This change has allowed us to stay online, reach more of you, and continue doing what we love!

Experimenting with Technology

We built this site for free as a demonstration that you don’t need a huge budget to start something meaningful. It’s simple, but we’re thrilled to share it with you and hope it inspires you in your own homebrewing journey. Feel free to explore our range of supplies for homebrewing and winemaking, and reach out anytime if you need help. Not all our products are listed here, as Google restricts certain items. So, if you’re after something specific, please ask!

Back to Our Roots – Working from Home!

Recently, we returned to our roots by working from home again. We loved our time on Taupo Quay, and we owe a huge thank you to Shane for the incredible support and growth opportunity there. 🙏 But after hearing from many of you about parking struggles (which, ironically, got sorted just as we moved out!), we realised that working from home fits best for both our business and our family.

Now that we’re back at home, we’re thrilled to offer same-day deliveries for all your homebrewing needs right from our doorstep! This setup allows us to be there for our little one whenever needed – which is truly priceless 💖 (and no more sitting around in a small office – I somehow managed to gain 5kg that way! 😂).
