Enhance Your Brew:
To elevate the fresh hop aroma that defines this style, we recommend adding a hop tea during the brewing process. Here’s how:
- Choose Your Hops: Select 1-2 oz. (28-56 grams) of any aroma hops that suit your taste. Popular choices include Citra, Cascade, or Amarillo for their citrusy and floral notes.
- Prepare the Tea: In a French press, add the hops and approx. 900ml of boiled water cooled to 80°C.
- Steep and Infuse: Stir the mixture and let it steep for 30 minutes. Plunge the solids and then add the green, filtered hop tea to the mix of ingredients in your fermenter before adding the yeast.
This simple step enhances the hop aroma, adding an extra layer of complexity to your American Pale Ale.
